❤️ Giving Back Where It Matters Most

My Experience with the ERA Jail & Bail Fundraiser

February is often associated with hearts, love, and caring for others — which makes it the perfect time to highlight a cause that truly reflects those values.

Last year, I had the honor of participating in ERA Jail & Bail, a unique and light-hearted fundraising event organized by ERA American Suncoast Realty. While the theme is playful, the mission behind it is deeply meaningful.

The event raises funds for the Richard Dixon Memorial Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping veterans and seniors in need — particularly those facing critical home repairs that impact their safety, comfort, and dignity.

How Jail & Bail Works

Participants are symbolically “locked up” and then work to raise their “bail” through donations from friends, family, clients, and community supporters. Every dollar raised goes directly toward helping local veterans and seniors remain safe in their homes.

It’s a fun, competitive event — but at its heart, it’s about neighbors helping neighbors.

A Community Effort That Made a Real Impact

Thanks to the incredible generosity of this community, more than $35,600 was raised through this year’s event. I was deeply honored to have raised the most funds within my organization, a result made possible by the overwhelming support of my own network — friends, clients, and local supporters who stepped up without hesitation when they learned where the money was going.

Those donations help fund essential needs such as roofing repairs, plumbing fixes, accessibility improvements, and basic home safety upgrades — allowing veterans and seniors to remain in their homes with dignity and peace of mind.

Why This Cause Hits Close to Home

A safe home is more than just a place to live — it’s security, independence, and stability. Supporting veterans and seniors who have given so much, yet quietly struggle, is a cause I believe strongly in.

Being part of Jail & Bail wasn’t just about fundraising — it was about showing up for people who need it most.

💙 A Heartfelt Thank You

I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who supported me during this year’s ERA Jail & Bail fundraiser. Your generosity, encouragement, and belief in this cause made a meaningful difference.

Because of your support, I was honored to be able to raise these funds within my organization, helping contribute to the overall success of this incredible event. This achievement truly belongs to you just as much as it does to me.

Your willingness to give speaks volumes about the heart of this community, and I’m deeply grateful to stand alongside people who care so deeply about helping others.

Looking Ahead

Events like ERA Jail & Bail remind us what’s possible when a community comes together. As we move through February — a month centered on love — it’s worth remembering that some of the most meaningful love we can show is through generosity, service, and compassion for those who need it most.

If you’d like to learn more about the foundation or future events, I’m always happy to share more.

Jill's Tip —

February Tip: Honoring Service Through Support

Giving back doesn’t always mean writing a big check or leading an event. Sometimes it starts with showing up, spreading awareness, or lending your voice to a cause that matters.

This month’s feature highlights support for our veterans—men and women who’ve given so much and continue to deserve care, dignity, and community. Whether it’s volunteering time, participating in a fundraiser, or simply learning more about local veteran-focused organizations, small actions truly add up.

When we support causes close to our hearts, we strengthen not only those organizations—but the community around us.

Love shows up in many forms. Service is one of them.
