Whether you’re a longtime Pine Ridge resident or just settling into Citrus County, summer is a beautiful time to enjoy all the Nature Coast has to offer. From cool springs to community festivals, there’s something for everyone—and it’s all just a short drive from your front door.
Here are 5 of my favorite things to do in Citrus County this summer:
🌊 1. Swim with the Manatees in Crystal River
This is the only place in the U.S. where you can legally swim with manatees in the wild. Book a guided tour, or bring your snorkel and explore the springs—an unforgettable Florida experience.
🎣 2. Fishing & Boating Adventures
With easy access to the Gulf, lakes, and rivers, Citrus County is a water lover’s paradise. Try scalloping season in Homosassa or rent a pontoon for a family day on the water.
🛍️ 3. Explore Historic Downtown Inverness
From charming boutiques to live music events and farmers markets, downtown Inverness is full of old Florida charm. Don’t miss the Depot District and weekly Courthouse Square events.
🌳 4. Hike or Bike the Withlacoochee State Trail
This scenic 46-mile paved trail winds through shady woods, small towns, and local parks. A perfect way to stay active while soaking up the beauty of the Nature Coast.
🍦 5. Cool Off with Local Treats
Check out neighborhood favorites like Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters, Twistee Treat, or a stop at one of our classic roadside fruit stands for fresh Florida produce.
📍 Living Here is a Lifestyle
This is why people from all over the country are making Pine Ridge and Citrus County their forever home. Looking to downsize or relocate here full-time? I can help you find the perfect fit.
